Donelle Cummings, MD

Overview

Dr. Donelle Cummings is a board-certified gastroenterologist practicing with East Side Medical, P.C. in Manhattan. He is known for his dedication to delivering high-quality care. Dr. Cummings earned his medical degree from the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic. He pursued specialty training through a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York, followed by an Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. He is skilled in performing upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), among other advanced procedures.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Cummings is committed to advancing medical education and research. He has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at New York Medical College and has also held clinical instructorships at SUNY Downstate, Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University, and Harvard Medical School. His research interests are reflected in numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national conferences, underscoring his dedication to furthering the field of Gastroenterology.

A resident of Manhattan’s Upper East Side, Dr. Cummings enjoys fitness, traveling, and the arts in his spare time.
