Overview

Paulo Pacheco, M.D. is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He received his B.S. from Boston College and his M.D. from Brown University School of Medicine. Dr. Pacheco completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at The New York Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan. He also completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at The New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center. Following his fellowship training, Dr. Pacheco also obtained a Master’s Degree in Science from Cornell University in the study of Clinical Epidemiology and Health Services Research. Upon completion of his Gastroenterology fellowship, Dr. Pacheco became the Director of the Gastroenterology fellowship training program at Weill Medical College of Cornell University, and was the youngest program director in the country at that time, a position he held for four years. During his residency at Cornell he received the Program Director’s Award for Excellence in teaching and was integral in the teaching program at Weill Cornell Medical School as well as in the Internal Medicine residency and in the Gastroenterology fellowship program. Dr. Pacheco is currently on faculty at NYU Langone Medical Center where is also is involved in the medical school, residency and gastroenterology fellowship teaching programs. He also teaches at Lenox Hill Hospital/Northwell Health in the gastroenterology fellowship program.

Dr. Pacheco is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the New York University Langone School of Medicine, where he received the Department of Medicine Clinical Faculty Teaching Award. Dr. Pacheco is an Assistant Attending Physician at NYU Langone Medical Center and is an Assistant Attending Physician at Lenox Hill Hospital/Northwell Health. Dr. Pacheco published a book entitled “Living with Chronic Heartburn: The Complete Guide to Acid Reflux and Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease”. He has participated numerous television, radio and magazine interviews. He is board certified in gastroenterology and is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the NY Society of Gastrointestinal Society. He was gastrointestinal health expert on the Health, Nutrition and Fitness Advisory Board of Woman’s Day magazine for several years and has been featured in several articles involving gastrointestinal disease.
